THE SALES PROCESS

  • 1. Pre-sale Discussion

    Call us to discuss whether we are the right fit and how we may be able to sell your boat for you.  We will answer any questions you may have and ensure you feel comfortable with the process.  You will then provide relevant ownership details and sign an exclusive contract for us to sell your yacht.

  • 2. Market Appraisal

    It’s important that we know all the ins and outs of your yacht.  A walkthrough and test sail will give us a feel for her so we can find the right buyer.  You will be given a realistic market appraisal and any suggestions we may have on how to increase the value of your yacht.  We will also conduct a full inventory as may prospective buyers want to know the inclusion specifics.

  • 3. Photography

    For your yacht to look her best, we highly recommend quality professional photography and videography.  Potential buyers will decide whether they are interested within seconds of seeing a listing so quality imagery is vital.  We will organise a professional photographer/videographer for you as part of your chosen advertising package.

  • 4. Promotion

    To get the best price for your yacht, it’s important to get your listing in front of as many potential buyers as possible.  Depending on the advertising package you have chosen, we will have a multi-channel marketing plan to promote your yacht and get it sold as quickly as possible.

  • 5. Sales and Negotiation

    We will meet with potential buyers, conduct walkthroughs (if required), follow up and negotiate to get you the best deal.  All offers will be presented to you in a timely manner and communication will be effective and honest.

  • 6. Settlement

    Once you have accepted an offer, we will arrange for the sea trial with the buyer.  Then all the paperwork, checks, and transfer of title will be arranged by us to ensure the sale concludes efficiently and seamlessly.  You will sign any appropriate papers and payment will be transferred.  If you are then looking for a new vessel, we can help you there too.

    Just like a real estate agent, we charge a percentage of the sale price of your vessel.  This way, you can be sure that we will work hard to get top dollar for you.

  • Does your yacht brokerage fee include advertising?

    Your listing on our website and promotion to our database is included with your listing fee.  It is highly recommended that you have professional photographs taken and purchase a further advertising package so we can reach the largest possible audience and ensure you get top dollar.

     When you enlist a broker, you avoid private sellers who may not be reliable and give you the runaround.

  • What can I do to get my yacht ready for sale?

    Before we get to the photography stage of the process, it’s a great idea to attend to the following if you haven’t already:

    • Ensure the bilge is clean and dry
    • Have service history on standby
    • Check all lights, navigation, instruments etc are in working order
    • Clean the engine
    • Repair any cosmetic damage
    • Declutter as much as possible
